FESTIVAL OF TREES ANNOUNCES THEME AND DIRECTORS;

TWO DAY EVENT, NOVEMBER 21-22, 2009

Wenatchee-
The Festival of Trees committee selected the theme “Unwrap the Magic,”  last

week at the first Director’s meeting of the season. The Festival of Trees will be held

Saturday, November 21- Sunday, November 22 at the Wenatchee Convention Center in

downtown Wenatchee. The Festival is a benefit for the Performing Arts Center of Wenatchee

and we’ll “Live Life Live
Festively” throughout the event.

The 2009 Festival of Trees will feature fifteen 4 foot to 10 foot elaborately decorated themed

trees in the Grand Ballroom of the Wenatchee Center, the Gala Auction presented by

Wenatchee Valley Medical Center, over 50 silent auction items sponsored by Numerica

Credit Union, 2-foot mini trees sponsored by Pipkin Construction and wreaths sponsored by

Banner Bank for public bidding and fabulous décor throughout the event. Due to the

economic climate and the increasing demands of volunteers, the Festival will withhold from

the other events that occurred in prior years such as the Teddy Bear Tea, Holiday Style

Show and Holiday Spice Concert this year. “The Performing Arts Center of Wenatchee needs

to be fiscally responsible to better serve our patrons, donors and sponsors. The Festival

directors can focus on increasing support for many volunteers that make the event possible,”

states Sara Cornell, Executive Director of the Performing Arts Center of Wenatchee. “I know

you’ll see several new designs and décor that will showcase our theme. Just because the

event is two days versus four does not mean that it will be less of an event, if anything, we

can take the areas that have worked well and make them even better! I know you’ll be

delighted,” adds Jennifer Bushong, Festival of Trees project manager.

The Festival of Trees has a strong group of community volunteers in place for the upcoming

year.
